CCD 233 The Golden Age Of Eddie Dean (24 tracks) = F I'M A STRANGER IN MY HOME/PUT A LITTLE SWEETENIN' (In Your Love)/CARELESS DARLIN'/THIS LONELY WORLD/GRAVEDIGGER'S LAMENT/A MILLION TEARS AGO/ONE YOU MUST CHOOSE/SPRING HAS COME AGAIN TO OLD MISSOURI/WAKE ME IN THE MORNING BY THE SWANEE RIVER/ONE HAS MY NAME (The Other Has My Heart)/BORN TO BE BLUE/THE LOW ROAD'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME/1501 MILES OF HEAVEN/DREAM ROSE/THE MIDNIGHT TRAIN (Of Lonesome Valley)/CARELESS HANDS/DON'T TELL ME STORIES/PRAIRIE PARADISE/CLOSE BY THE RIVER/OUR ISLAND PARADISE/CHIQUITA/I WISH ALL MY BABIES WERE CHILDREN AGAIN/DRY YOUR EYES/DIDN'T I. This 2nd Eddie Dean CD was released by request also. It preserves and presents basically Eddie's small label items and a few more Standard transcriptions from the era of the 1940s. You may identify the young Speedy West and Marian Hall on steel or Joe Maphis on guitar. The album is somewhat different compared to Cattle CCD 214, but it is just as great. This album presents the versatility of Eddie because of a large variety of musicians, but that's just what makes the album that interesting. |
