Bill Nettles lived from 1903 until 1967. He formed his first band "The Nettles Brothers". Bill sang and always played mandolin and Norman Nettles sang at times and played guitar. They started recording in 1937 for Vocalion. Then they went to other labels like Bluebird, Victor, Bullet, Imperial, Mercury and more. Mandolin, fiddle and guitars were their most employed instruments, but they used steel guitar and accordion, too. Bill had lots of power in his Hillbilly voice and there are certainly enough items that make the hearts of western swing fans beat faster. Unusual and versatile, but great artist who missed the boat to fame.
