The York Brothers weren't quite as popular as The Delmore Brothers or Blue Sky Boys. One of the reasons might be that they recorded too many songs for small labels. However, this albums contains examples from various labels from their first dozen years (1939-1950). Their earlier recordings were made with the accompaniment of their guitars, but on the later KING recordings a larger 6 piece band was used. They quit recording in 1965 and passed away in 1974 and 1984. The CD is an important piece of country music history. More information here:
