Lulu Belle and Scotty (Wiseman) - both deceaed now - was a very successful country duo from 1932 until their semi-retirement in 1958. Scotty usually picked his banjo while Lulu Belle played the guitar. Each of them sang solos and they did plenty of duets as well. All of these combinations can be heard on this new album. The items selected for this CD were taken from old WLS radio transcriptions used for the very popular radio series "Breakfast In The Blue Ridge" . They were made around 1950. Good traditional country singing like they have done it on the WLS National Barn Dance which originated from Chicago. More information at |
