Dude Martin has been very popular on the west coast from the 1930s to early 1950s. He gave many artists a chance in his Roundup Gang and some really became popular including Carolina Cotton and Sue Thompson. Dude has a great deep voice and in the combination with top musicians like Speedy West <steel guitar> and Harold Hensley <fiddle> it is really fantastic. Label sources are Victor, Mercury, Eagle and transcription label Mac Gregor. Don't miss this great CD of finest Western/Swing music of the late 40s and early 50s. Other vocalists included: Bud Hobbs, Andy Parker and Peggy Martin.
