The Willis Brothers started as the Oklahoma Wranglers in the 1932s as a Western Trio. After World War II (in 1946) they became members of the Grand Ole Opry. Fred Rose got them a contract with Sterling Records, so they did their first recordings the same day they accompanied Hank Williams on his first session in December 1946. All brothers are dead now, but their music lives on with Vic on accordion, Skeeter on fiddle and Guy on rthythm guitar. They toured and appeared in movies with Eddy Arnold and worked as session musicians. In spite of their excellent recordings their first hit came as late as 1964 with "Give Me 40 Acres".
