The Turner Brothers (Red & Lige) are genuine brothers. Zeke Turner is a brother of Zeb Turner (also known as the Grishaw Brothers). The four guys performed in the same area and also performed together now and then. Before Red quit the business in 1954 he cut 2 singles for the "X" label with Zeke, one was issued as Zeke & Red and one as The Kentucky Boys. The Red & Lige items were all recorded in 1947 and the style is similar to the Delmore and York Brothers, but they don't copy them. The 4 items from 1954 are very different in style and were produced in the then usual Atkins Nashville style. Super rare material and really worth being discovered by everyone who hasn't been aware that these fellows ever cut a record.
