Very rare transcriptions which were made for MacGregor and World in the late 40s, when Jimmy was at the peak of his career. Nothing was to find in country music literature about these items like it is often the case with transcriptional recordings. The tracks from MacGregor with Arthur Smith on vocal & fiddle are partially real Hillbilly items, which one could compare with the early Ramblin' Tommy Scott. Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith is somebody else, by the way. Other vocalists are The Sunshine Girls, who also appeared with him in Western movies. Some of the musicians on this album are: Jack Rivers (guitar), Pete Martinez (steel) and Stanley Ellison (accordion). Altogether you will certainly consider this CD a must!
