This CD spans Tex's most succesful early period from 1946 to 1952. His Western Caravan was one of the most remarkable Western Swing bands of that era. Listing the names of the musicians, for instance Johnny Weiss, Smokey Rogers, Joaquin Murphy, Speedy West, Cactus Soldi, Deuce Spriggens and Pedro De Paul, certainly needs no further comment as to what one can expect from this CD album. Most of these items have never been used on an album before. It's a real collector's item, of course.
