All 15 songs were recorded between about 1940 and 1950. Pete Pyle was one of the first solo artists to perform on "The Grand Ole Opry". His early membership of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys and Pee Wee King's Golden West Cowboys also testifies that he was a pioneer in country music. On this album you will find mountain and hillbilly music including one fine yodel song.
