The 16 songs on this album come from Johnny's most popular period (1950-54). All of them were recorded in Dallas, Texas and have been previously released on singles only. The LP reflects his different styles from country love ballads to humorous western swing. Here is a list of some of the musicians who worked the recording sessions: Jimmy Kelly and the late Paul Blunt (steelguitar), Billy Jack Saucier and Carroll Hubbard (fiddle), Marvin Montgomery (guitar and banjo), Billy Briggs (saxophone), Bobby Williamson (bass).
