LP 47 Van Williams Salutes Jimmie Rodgers At His 50th Anniversary Of Death

YESTERDAY/PROHIBITION HAS DONE ME WRONG/THE ONE ROSE (That's Left In My Heart)/MY LITTLE LADY (Sadie Brown)/BRAKEMAN'S BLUES/THE YODELING RANGER/IN THE JAILHOUSE NOW No.2/ BAREFOOT BLUES (Blue Yodel No.12)/WHISPER YOUR MOTHER'S NAME/T FOR TEXAS (Blue Yodel No.1)/GAMBLIN' POLKA DOT BLUES/FRANKIE AND JOHNNY/MULESKINNER BLUES (Blue Yodel No.8)/SWEET MAMA HURRY HOME OR I'LL BE GONE/PRAIRIE LULLABY.

Once will have heard this LP I'm sure you will agree with many record reviewers and me that nobody on record ever performed the songs of Jimmie Rodgers better than blind Van Williams. Van put up his guitar about 50 years later than Jimmie but the oldtime feeling is exactly the same. "Yesterday" and "Prohibition Has Done Me Wrong" have never been available by Rodgers, so you must get at least Van's versions. I'm sure Jimmie couldn't have done them better.
